Research

http://vimeo.com/35674495

A series of 4 Kinects (Xbox) were mounted along the ceiling. Movement and distance from the wall were both used to trigger the light changes. I love the idea of interaction in this example of creative coding. The most exciting aspect of creative coding for me it the endless possibilities of interactivity with movement, audio etc.

Further experimentation in processing

In this composition the balls move around the screen bouncing off the walls. The opacity is set on random so it appears the balls are blinking. They also change colour. In this composition it is interesting to play around with the gravity, number of balls and spring settings.

Other experiments in processing

In this composition I have played around with the gravity and spring functions. I have also played around with the random colour function.

More processing experiments

In this composition I have experimented with colour, mousepress options to change the stroke. Mousex and mousey functions. The circles are generated following the mouse the colour is slightly randomly generated but usually ends up being an orangey yellow colour. When you press the mouse the stroke goes to white.

Experimenting with previously written code

Experimenting with previously written code. Changing number values and colour.

Other experiments in processing

Further development into colour and mouse x and y functions.

First attempt at processing

I experimented in processing using the mouse, mouse x and mouse y functions. I also experimented with different colours and strokes. I like the layered look that this code achieves when you overlap the squares.

Research

http://dmtr.org/mtv_rewind/

This is the MTV i.d for 2009, it was made in processing.
The thing I like about this composition is how the the particles seem random but then turn into the MTV logo. It is interesting to see how creative coding is relevant in everyday life.

Remixing previous code

http://goo.gl/85ZRXK
I remixed someone else's code. I made the the animation speed up and zoomed in.

Spinning

http://goo.gl/VMExC1
I experimented with trails and rotations.  I like how it almost looks like a spinning top about to fall over.

Doge cube

http://goo.gl/yYX5fI

I experimented with putting an image of the sides of the cube. I used an internet icon- Doge.
I thought it would be funny to see his face rotating around on the cube so I experimented with the different axises and speed of rotation.

First attempt at creative coding

http://goo.gl/YZVMI3 This is a sphere looking shape that rotates while moving from one side of the page to the other.
